Meet Dr. Sina Najafi
Dr. Najafi is board-certified in both Internal Medicine and Palliative Care. He attended The University of Texas at Dallas where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology. He completed his medical degree at the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth. After completing his residency in Internal Medicine at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, he continued to pursue a fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Medicine at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. During this time, he learned how to ease patients’ symptoms (e.g., pain, nausea, vomiting, anxiety, and insomnia) and decrease patients’ suffering. He then returned to Texas where he met his lovely wife Tania and is currently practicing Palliative Care at Baylor Scott & White Health.
While caring for patients who suffer from chronic diseases, Dr. Najafi realized that traditional medical practices would not be sufficient for his patients and started practicing Integrative Medicine, combining modern medicine with complementary health services. He has been able to recommend medical marijuana to his patients since September 2021, after Texas expanded the Compassionate Use Program. Dr. Najafi is excited to recommend legal forms of cannabinoids to qualified Texans in need.
A firm believer in the benefits of medical marijuana, Dr. Najafi remains optimistic that society will continue to make progress on medical cannabis issues, allowing patients in Houston, Texas, who receive relief from medical cannabis to do so without stigma, judgment, and legal jeopardy. Here at Zen Cannabis Clinic, we hope that the lawmakers of Texas further support patients’ rights that allow medical research to be performed in a free and unrestricted way. Only in this way can our knowledge of both the benefits and the harms of cannabis continue to progress.
